Ways to Make Mercury Retrograde Your Ally

Eeek, duck and cover, Mercury is going retrograde.

b2ap3_thumbnail_SB-MRX.jpgHow to profit from fear. Just kidding about that, but how many of your customers are worried about Mercury going retrograde? Do they change their purchasing behavior? We’ve heard of many superstitions, warnings and remedies around Mercury Retrograde. Some help and some just spin more fear and uncertainty.

You can teach your customers to make Mercury retrograde their ally.

We are all in the business of helping people and in today’s blog we will discuss how to keep going especially now. The more your clients understand the gift of this astrological influence the more they will feel in control of their lives. A happy customer is the best customer to have.

The shadow side of Mercury while in retrograde has gotten a lot of bad press. Like lemons, you can make lemonade with Mercury too. Bring some sweetness to MRx by learning the three R’s. Rest, Review and Re-do.

We know that short of putting together a class, you don’t necessarily have time to personally educate each of your customers on the opportunities that await them each time Mercury slows its roll. As you know Mercury does this four times a year for about 22 days. That’s almost 90 days a year of unique opportunities.  Let’s make the most of it.

Right inside your store is all you need for turning MRx sunny side up for your customers. Starting with R for Rest, guide them to trying out a new meditation cd and calming incense, oils and candles. Aromatherapy is a powerful ally in the relaxation department.

The second R is for Review. Looking back is much easier during MRx. There is less chaos and resistance. Trying to move forward in plans and activities will get you a face full of cosmic dust that distorts mental clarity. Decisions are much harder to make at this time. Pull out all your journals and books on journaling and put them right under their noses. It’s easier to learn from the past now, so promote MRx readings where your tarot card readers help clients understand what happened and why.

The third R is for Re-do. This could range from cleaning closets to remodeling. What do you have in your store that would enhance this activity?  Does your customer need to re-do their altar or meditation space?  We bet you have gorgeous statues, candles, mandalas and scarves that will inspire your customers to spend more time being in the flow of universal love.

Here at Coventry Creations we have created products that teach about this phenomenon and remedy the Mercury Retrograde blues. We have the MRx Spell Box and the Re-Boot Spell Box which includes candles, oil and directions.  Please visit type40sale.com to see how cool they are and place your order too.

Good Vibes - Good Employees

good employeesHaving positive people in such a sensitive area is vital for our products to maintain authentic magic.   When it’s time to bring in a new family member we tread carefully.   “Hire intentionally”, is our motto and frankly, that can be a difficult value to maintain when we are in a desperate need for more hands on deck.

When we hire a new employee we know that we are investing in them; the cost of training, cost of work slowdown during training and the cost of the hiring process.   Because this is an investment (on average it costs a business $2000 to hire a new employee) we make sure that a new potential employee fits in with our culture.  We even draft our interview questions to get an initial read on how they stand with each of our values: Open, passionate, excellence, fun and tenacity.

You don’t have to be outwardly magic or even understand what we do to work at Coventry.  You just have to be a good person who jives with the people that you spend more time with than you spend with your family.   We know that every person we hire leaves an imprint upon our products and our lives and ours to theirs.   We work with the intent that we will walk together for a time and need to leave each other’s lives the better for it.    We just want to generate good vibes that carry all the way through our products ending with the person who needs the magic we create.

Affirming the New Year

affirming the new yarAbout 3 years ago we started featuring the Affirmation candles in December to promote a magical and empowered turn of the year.   This new tradition has gone from a simple wholesale promotion to a personal journey that many of our customers anticipate and plan for.

Instead of a New Year’s Resolution, we promote the creation of a New Year’s Affirmation.

Resolutions are for breaking.  They are a vow and promise that is impossible to keep, this creates sabotage and defeat in the new year.

Affirmations are for keeping.   They allow small sustainable changes that build upon each other to create a new reality over time.

With this month’s special and New Year POP sign, you can stock up on the Affirmations and start a conversation with your customers, helping them choose their 2016 Affirmation and bring in the New Year with positive energy!

The sweetest hangover - What to do after the magic

What a Good Display can Cost You

BHC sold outYou may have had a few emails pass your inbox with the new Coventry Displays that we have commissioned Blue Earth Designs to make for us.

They are gorgeous, aren’t they?   They are worth every penny.

I am with you that sometimes buying a display seems a bit pricey and maybe unnecessary.  I always think that I could put something together in my store that will work, be original and way cheaper.   I am always wrong.

I remember one year I thought I could make a nice flocked jewelry display for an odd shaped shelf for less than the custom one online.   The custom one was $80.  I ended up spending $100 and about 8 hours making it just so.   To boot, it fell apart the minute I moved it.

A good display, like the new hand crafted wood displays that we are offering are worth their weight in products.   We have found that product sell about 25% faster in a dedicated, branded display than they sell on the shelf.   Over and over again, we prove this and it’s worth the investment every time.

Let’s do the math.

$85 for a Blessed Herbal Display.   It holds about a $450 value in products (36 Blessed Herbal Candles)

A small store sells through 50% of their order in 30 days (18 candles).    A full display sells through 50% of the candles in about 20 days (or less).  Once a display gets to half full sales slow down to a crawl.  No one wants to pull from a picked over dispaly so you get an opportunity to restock at 20 days, selling an additional 9 candles in that month.

9 candles at full retail (2.25 markup)  is an additional $117 in sales.  In 2 months that display is paid for and adding an additional $1000 to your total sales at the end of the year.  (That’s just for a small store)

How much can a good display cost you - It can cost you NOT to have one!

The Web of Peace Begins with You!

W PEWhat does peace mean to you? Maybe it means waking up with the sun on a fall Sunday morning, getting away from your kids for a weekend or, if you’re anything like me, you get your peace from a plethora of things. The thing is, we all have our own definitions of what peace is to us, and that’s okay. Like love, the meaning of peace is customizable and can vary depending on who you ask.  Isn’t it cool though? No matter who you talk to, whether their peace is or isn’t your peace, it is agreed that it’s a mental place that provides complete solitude no matter the personal definition.

As we take the end of the year to look inward and reflect, we need to appreciate and acknowledge our own definitions of peace and remember that not everyone has the means to accomplish the peace they need and want. The web of peace begins with you and once you manifest those desires for internal and external peace, it will be.

The web begins with you and if you possess the peace you’ve customized to your likings, the world will follow. If everyone in the world got to experience their piece of peace the world would be calm, it would be tranquil, it would be serene. What does your peace look like?

This November at Coventry, we will be pouring our special editionPeace candle from our World Magic. Use the sweet subtle scents of the Peace candle to guide your way. A peaceful white candle with a fragrance that comes from the four corners of the world. Lavender, Cedar, Jasmine, Frankincense and Vanilla. We’re making 2 batches of the Peace candle for the holiday and they will be available on a first come first serve basis.

Don't miss out on these popular candles. Once they are marked sold out they are unavailable until further notice.  All limited editions are subject to change based on popularity.  All limited editions do not qualify for our "NO DUST" exchange policy.

Meditation isn’t what you think it is…..

NOV Live the Magic MeditationDid you get your pillows out into the middle of the floor, put on your meditation CD and yoga pants and light the candle? If you are like me, you would have thought about the process and shook your head thinking, “I have 45 other things I need to do!” Honestly, I give up before I every get started because traditional meditation does not bring me joy.
